What happens when a group of cool people are put together
to live in a family like-community, you travel around the world and your life is a bit crazy…

 you have very
little of your own — just what you can wear and carry with you… yah well… even
that gets shared — right Sarah.

So there’s not really any space of your own… even your
sleeping space is shared 😉 you change cultures, the language or dialect spoken
around you changes, the hand or feet gestures have varying significance… or
repercussions, living space changes about every 3 weeks, so belonging in a
physical place is extremely temporary, almost nonexistent.

Control… what… what is that?  Control over what you eat —sometimes happens, haha control of
how your body releases what you eat… a little out of wack… haha.  Control over what you’re doing the next
day… not so much. Wait, what am I doing the next day?  Ummm guess my ministry contact will call and let me know
shortly where, and what we are doing.

So all these things, even my desire to be productive and get
a seemingly small task accomplished independently is stripped away.

What does this lead to?  Death.

Haha.

Dying to yourself.
Dying to who you think you are, parts of your personality… (sometimes aka excuse for behavior )dying to your
autonomy, to your pride…

But the funny thing is this absolutely leads to life!  Dying to your own self gives way to greater things.  Tear down and rebuild… so much more growth
in this —the whole earth illustrates it, and maybe also a little Buddhist meets
Ecclesiastes… yah?

This re-growth leads to exponentially more life, and an
understanding that there has to be so much more life to give.

Jesus said He is the way, the truth, the life, through Him we can come to the Father.   This is the kind of life I’m goin after and this kind of life demands my all, and through Jesus will leave life in it’s wake.
