Cup of Noodles
It hit me when I was on our 15 hour plus plane trip to the Philippines what I was entering into. We had been on our flight for about 8 hours and I was getting hungry. So I ordered a snack and besides peanuts all they offered was Cup of Noodles and the only thing they offered to eat those slippery noodles with was chopsticks. This simple snack and tricky utensils sent a message to me that from here on my life for the next year would be redefined. I was going to have to learn how to be adaptable to the culture and allow myself to use every situation to learn. I would be lying if I said that going to 11 countries in the next year and having to encounter so many challenging situations did not scare me, but they do. But what I want more is a life that can be changed by God, I want more of Him and I want to use all the upcoming situations to be changed into His image. Its only been two days so far and we still have so many places to go. My tendency is to jump ahead and want to know exactly what God will do in this journey He has me on. But I want to stand on the promise that God will go before me and be my guide.
Psalm 139
If I go to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea even there your hand will guide me your right hand will hold me fast!
