Hello Everyone,
In life there are often different paths that can be taken some of those paths are obvious and familiar some are mundane, and others seem completely outrageous and yet completely unavoidable. As many of you know I have always had a heart for travel and adventure and at the same time a desire to help others that are in need recently I have come across a way to embrace both. The name of the program in World Race (not to be confused with the Amazing Race….I don’t have the opportunity to win millions but for 11 months I will have the chance to touch the lives of millions in a positive and lasting way….priceless) In order to embark on this journey I will need to raise support money to help get me there. I will be straight up with you that the amount I need to raise is $ 15, 500. This money will be spent on my basic necessities while away, food, transportation, shelter, and of course the administration and training costs to get me there. By supporting me you will be playing a vital part in impacting the lives of people around the globe.
The World Race is a program of the inter denominational organization Adventure in Missions that has been in existence since 1989 sending teams of young people annually to help partner with local missionaries, orphanages, schools and churches. I will be working in 11 different countries, in 11 months, starting in Kenya then on to Rwanda, Uganda, Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Haiti and ending in Puerto Rico.
I will be writing a blog (http://candacerobbins.theworldrace.org/) while I am away in order share my adventures with you. I will also upload pictures and videos if possible to show how your support is allowing me to reach out to those in need. Some of the activities you can expect to see me doing include; teaching English classes, working at orphanages, completing manual labor in villages, visiting hospitals, assisting with worship services, working with women involved in human trafficking, educating teens, and most of all, sharing my faith with others, including my teammates.
If you are receiving this letter it’s because I am asking you for your support. For some of you a onetime donation may be the best option for others a smaller monthly donation may better choice. Every little bit helps and I want to thank everyone in advance for their generosity and support. In addition to financial support I am also looking for people that are willing to commit to praying for me and my team regularly. There will be many challenges over the next few months but also a lot of great opportunities and your prayers will be needed and appreciated.
