Imagine this, you walk into someone’s house and the first thing you are greeted with is a little boy sitting on the floor. You know something is wrong because he has this pillow under his legs. He just looks up at you with these little brown eyes that you know from that moment on you will never be able to forget. Its eyes like you see in your dreams. Its eyes like you know you will see again in heaven. It’s almost like you looked directly into the eyes of Jesus himself.
Then you take two seconds to look around the house and you realize you have been in bathrooms that are bigger than this whole house that three people live in. It’s a dirty concrete floor with this one little wall that divides the kitchen from the living room/bedroom for three. You don’t dare imagine what the bathroom may look like. You meet all the people that live there and know that only this sweet boy on the floor is a believer. The dad has left and now the little one is the man of the house.
Then he lifts his pant leg and you see it. This little deformed leg and you instantly think, “oh God’s got this”. You begin to get so pumped up because God is about to move the mountains. You all begin to pray and you look into those eyes again and God speaks to you and says, “he’s my little evangelizer, he is going to bring so many to salvation, with him I am well pleased.” It takes all you have to not burst out into tears at that moment. You keep praying and then you start speaking life into his little spirt.
Life is going out in this living room. The presence of God is so strong you can feel it. Then the power goes out right in the middle of speaking truth into this little man. That’s when you realize that everyone and their mommas are in this tiny little house and everyone is huddled around you watching all that is happening. Sweat is dripping from your nose, it’s running into your eyes causing them to burn but you keep going. Just screaming who God is so loud you swear the neighbors could hear if they were at home and not right behind this beautiful little boy still sitting on the floor.
You ask that he gets up and walks, which he does, but it’s nothing new, he can walk. It’s just painful and his little leg is still hurt. So then you ask for a bucket of water to wash his little feet. As you begin, you wonder has anyone ever washed his sweet little feet? Has anyone ever taken the time to tell him he is important, he has a purpose, a reason for living? You see as you are singing over him that the water is turning brown quickly. God just keeps whispering to you, “you have no clue how much I love this beautiful boy.” Again, you are brought to tears as he looks down on you while you wash his dirty little feet with the faith in his eyes that you know is moving mountains in heaven as he looks at you.
You leave and no healing in the physical has happened. You leave in tears because you know that you had a part in healing that beautiful little boy’s heart. The truth spoken into him and the washing of his feet cleansed a part of his soul. That beautiful beloved son will never be the same and God chose you to be a part of it. God used you to love on and speak truth to a little man that may never have heard how worthy he is.
You leave thanking God for being a privileged American who gets to go home to a room as big as his whole house in 4 months, and finally it hits you that you also have a purpose that God is also proud and well pleased with you. You see how rewarding being his hands and feet are and you know without a shadow of a doubt you aren’t going home the same.
So go out and be his hands and his feet and listen as he sings and speaks beautiful truth over your life. You’ll be surprised who he says you are, if you listen!
Much love 🙂
