When did we stop dreaming??
I have a few short days left in Cambodia and once again I could write hundreds of blogs on what The Lord has taught me this month. But the one that sticks out the most are dreams.
God gives us big dreams but the world tells us we can’t fulfill them; that they’re impossible to fulfill.
When I was just six or seven years old I wrote in a journal that one day I would go to Africa..no one in my family had ever even left the country but my little head had dreams and visions of going to this country that seemed impossible. Years went by but I continued to fight for that dream and The Lord fulfilled it because He was the one who gave the dream of going to me. And in just a few days I will be flying back to that same continent that stole my heart a few years ago and made me look at this life in a different way.
But what had happened if I’d given up on this dream? I had many people in high school and even college years tell me I would never go. I would never have the funds, that my parents would never allow it, that it would be too dangerous.
So how many of our dreams –that God gave us–have been squashed by what someone else said to us or what the world has made us believe?
Because if you and I truly believe that our God fulfilled all the miracles of the Bible and the miracles we have seen and experienced here on Earth why couldn’t He fulfill the most far fetched dreams we have for His Kingdom??
He has big dreams for us and He will fulfill them but only when we begin to believe the same God who spoke the Earth into creation is the God who gives us these dreams and is big enough to fulfill them.
This is what I’ve decided and I challenge you to do the same. Don’t forsake the dreams He has given to you because He will bless you for your faith and belief.
“God is eagerly waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can’t if you don’t pray, and He can’t if you don’t dream. In short, He can’t if you don’t believe .”
So don’t give up on your dreams. Dream big and know that The Lord will do far more immeasurably than anything we could ask or imagine!
