Today (10/25/15) after church we were asked by Tata, a member of the church, if there were any of us who wanted to come with her to be extras in a movie that is being made where she works. I thought to myself, “I’m on the World Race, half way around the world in Mongolia, I don’t have any excuse NOT to go, and WHY NOT?!?!” So 7 of us loaded up in a bus with Tata and her friend MJ and went clear across town where none of us had ever been before. We got off the bus and followed the 2 girls into a building that had a convenient store in the bottom and a restaurant on the second floor. She led us into a room next to the restaurant that looked like it was under construction. We quickly realized that was the set. We were confused because there wasn’t a movie being shot, so we didn’t understand how we were going to be extras. The director came and talked to us and he explained that we were actually auditioning for roles in the movie. WHAT?!?! Awesome! One by one he had us stand in the middle of the room and he gave us our role. My first role was an angry gangster. I had no clue what to do. Luckily I have a little impromptu skill and was willing to put my pride aside, so I just pretended like someone was trying to pick a fight with. I started yelling “You got a problem with me?!?! Let’s take it outside! Let’s go! Come on!” In the process I rolled up my sleeves and posted up like I was about to fight. Then, he wanted me to act seductive. I had never been asked that before! Ha! I did my best seductive act I could and then the camera man took a few pictures of me. The director thanked me and told me that he was offering an acting contract and wanted me to consider it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. After all of us were done we took a group picture and the director explained to us that he was going to analyze our audition videos and make his decision on who to use. We should hear something by Friday about who he wants to use in his movie. So I can now say that I have auditioned for a Mongolian movie! This is just one of a ton of adventures we have had and will have! This story is proof that you can have fun, be adventurous, laugh uncontrollably with friends, and just simply be happy with the Lord! This will be a story that I will never forget and will pass down to my children and grandchildren.
Thank you to all of my supporters! If it wasn’t for y’all I wouldn’t be able to be here and have such a joyful time with these amazing people!
