There have been many challenges that I have had to face getting ready for this trip. One of the first challenges was one of the hardest to get past.
I had a huge debate with myself during the process of really thinking about going on this trip or not. The human side of me thought it was a crazy idea to leave my only for of income and go across the world. However, the spiritual side of me was telling me to place everything in Gods’ hands and trust that He would provide the necessary tools and funds I needed to follow His calling for me.
This war went on for some time. The whole time I continued to pray that Christ would let me know if it was in His will or not. Finally, He answered my prayers with a “YES!!!”
From that moment on I told myself that I could not listen to the human side of me and let the thought of leaving my job keep me from going on this trip.
I titled this “God Over Money” because that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m choosing to follow my calling from Christ rather than follow money. Yes, money might be able to by fancy cars, nice houses, awesome vacations, and much more, but money will NEVER be able to purchase what God is going to show and teach me. The fancy cars and nice houses are only temporary, but the love and grace of Our Father is eternal.
This has been one of the many obstacles that I have had to overcome, but I am so thankful that I made it through. I wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for Jesus Christ!!!
