2014 was a big year for me! I left my job in Waco, Texas and moved to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex for a new job. I moved out of my parents’ house and began a whole new chapter of my life. I was excited about the new adventure, but little did I know, it was the beginning of a huge plan by God.
I worked for ES&H in June 2014 until mid July 2015. We are an emergency response hazmat cleanup company. I have been all over Texas and the surrounding states, cleaning up all types of chemical, fuel and oil spills as well as cleaning all types of fuel and acid tanks. I have all kinds of crazy stories and a ton of great memories. While I have loved my job, I knew that this was not where the Lord wanted me for the rest of my life. Knowing this, I began to pray and ask Christ what to do.
In October, my prayers were answered! While my dog and I were exploring downtown Grapevine, we stopped in a store that caught my eye. Inside, I met a lady by the nickname of Tigi. After a few minutes, we began discussing her mission trip experiences over in Europe and my passion for youth ministry. After going on and on about my youth students in Waco and Grapevine, she proceeded to tell me about the World Race. That night, I looked at their website and watched videos and read blogs. I immediately fell in love with the whole idea!
I began to pray again. My first prayer was simply, “Father, is this in your will?” He answered that prayer in December, and it was a resounding YES!!! Now super excited, I began the next prayer. When? Thankfully, He quickly answered that one. He told me “NOW!” So I began looking into when I could leave. One thing led to another, and now in September, I am leaving on the East Asian route. We will be going to China, Mongolia, Japan, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia. My current prayer is “Father, please guide and direct me to raise the necessary funds.”
There are 3 ways you can support me:
Prayer: There are many thing you can pray for if you would like. For example, you could help with getting all of the necessary stuff done before I can leave. I have to get shots, move out of my apartment, raise the money for the trip, and finding the time to get all of these things done. Also to prepare my mind, body, and spirit for the trip. This will be an amazing experience and I want to be completely ready. Another big prayer is what to do when the trip is over. I will begin to pray this toward the end of the trip. I believe that God wants me to move into this lifestyle, and I want to carry out the Lord’s will. One of the biggest prayers is for financial support. I have to raise the money to attend the trip. Your prayers are much appreciated and needed.
Financial Support: The total amount I have to raise is $16,297. You can either make a one time pledge or choose to make monthly donations. Credit/Debit cards as well as checks are accepted. You can go the the “Support Me” tab and follow the directions if you would like to donate with a credit/debit card. If a check is your choice, please make the check payable to “Adventures in Missions” and write my name in the memo line. No amount is too small and anything helps. This is a big goal for me to reach, but I have full faith in our Lord that it will be met.
Spreading the Word: One of the best ways to grow a business is by word of mouth. Please pass the information to any friends or family members about this opportunity to assist in spreading the love of God around the world.
I want to admit that this is my very first blog ever! I promise that my blogging skills will get better. Stay tuned for more!
