Please
read their bios and find out who they are pray for them, pray for us as
a team so we can be effective working together for Haiti! My wonderful
team of 10 will be spending this month working with Pastor Forges and
his family in the Port-au-Prince area of Tabarre. We are living at his
house and helping with anything and everything he needs done, including
feeding/serving/aiding those in the tent communities he visits
(numbering over 20,000 displaced persons in all); serving the youth of
his church; leading worship and evangelism when needed; and helping to
construct an orphanage/school next to one of the tent communities so
the children have somewhere to live and be educated!
We arrived at Pastor Forges’ house yesterday evening, and
today were given a tour of the people and areas he is involved with. We
were able to see one of the tent communities and meet some people
there, help in a small way with the food distribution, and see where
the orphanage will go and find out what the needs are. We also drove
out to the country to another village he partners with and met a Vodou
priest. The spiritual atmosphere was so heavy and dark in that place,
and we spent some time praying for him and for the village, and got to
play with the beautiful children there. We have seen SO much need and
so much destruction, and yet have seen such hope in people here, and
are so thankful for the relief efforts we have seen so far!
Our
ministry this month looks as though it could include anything and
everything, and we want to be open to meeting whatever physical and
spiritual needs we see, assisting Pastor Forges in the work he is
doing, and most importantly we want to be dependent on the Lord and
where He wants us to serve, as obviously the need is overwhelming.
Thank you so much for your support and prayers!!
