Hello, family and friends from India!
I have some important news that will most likely surprise you, but I hope that you will be excited for me as well! I have decided it was best to leave the World Race, because God has called me to another important, unique journey. Where God calls me, I follow, no matter how difficult it may be.
God showed me a few years ago how enormous human trafficking is all over the world, especially sex-trafficking. God gave me this passion to help and prevent our world’s greatest oppression, and my passion has grown immensely. Now, God has made it very clear that He has called me to truly dive in to help His suffering creation. Also, when I was in Bolivia volunteering at the orphanage, God showed me my second passion – orphans. I am ecstatic that my other passion is to love and care for orphans! Here is a verse in the bible that talks about orphans that inspired me, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” – James 1:27. It is beautiful.
God has called me to spend three months in South East Asia working with other organizations to help and prevent sex-trafficking and to spend another three months in South East Africa loving and caring for orphans. I will inform you of which organizations when I am fully confident with my itinerary. Simultaneously, I will definitely continue to evangelize during these two paths. I am in the process of trying to communicate to my university to see if I can include this as my internship.
I have no regrets of leaving the World Race because I can do His work with anyone and anywhere, I can specifically work towards my two passions, I can depend on Him even more, and because I am confident that this is where God wants my journey to go.
I will start this mission work and hopefully internship in the third week of June. For the time being, I will stay in India and perhaps a week in Sri Lanka. During my time here, I will travel by myself as a temporary nomad, but I get to have my true “honeymoon” with God. I get to fully, 100% rely on Him, see Him reveal Himself to me more, and appreciate when He romances me by showing me His stunning creations. Before my team and I departed from each other in India, we went to one of our favorite restaurant and God blessed us with the opportunity to watch the movie, Eat, Pray, Love. From watching this movie, I heard a quote that stood out to me, “I want God to play in my bloodstream the way sunlight amuses itself on the water.” This explains my yearning for God, especially during my independent nomad stay in India.
Now, you may be curious about finances -great thought. Yes, I am leaving a specific missions organization to continue my own, specific missions journey. This work does not mean it is less important and I will continue to fundraise. I will simply use this money for the cheapest of traveling, lodging, food, and donations towards the victims and orphans I will be working with. If you personally desire, I can inform you, my supporter, where your donations will exactly go. Your money to support my missions will never be inappropriately used and it will go towards a couple of wonderful causes!
I want to thank the World Race staff, my squad, and my team for everything. I miss you, I will continue to pray for you, and please keep me updated with your ministries. Also, I want to sincerely thank you for all who have financially and prayerfully supported me before the World Race and during. Without you, I would not have been able to do any of it. For four months on the field, you helped make it possible for me to love and spread the light to unprivileged groups of children. It truly has made a difference for them and I still keep in touch with a few of the children. I hope you value me in my new journey and continue to financially and/or prayerfully partner with me.
If you would like to financially support my new ministry, please send a check to my mother’s address: 731 Fox Tree Lane North Hudson, WI 54016. If you prefer to donate via credit card, you can at my Go Fund Me account online at: http://www.gofundme.com/23k6zc. This option is convenient, but I do not receive 100% of the profit; a certain percentage goes towards the business.
If you would like to pray for me, thank you! Please pray for my safety and protection, for my relationship with God to grow more and more, and for God to show me which specific organizations I should partner with.
Thank you,
Callie Fike
