*Casa De Esperanza (House of Hope)*
Hola family and friends! I would like to share some humongous news with you. My World Race deadline is this April 1st and I am still $3,101 away from reaching it. That only leaves me with 2 weeks left to make this deadline. Because I cannot easily fund raise while away from home, spreading God’s love overseas on the race, I am really trying not to worry and be anxious about this challenge. I know God will provide if this is truly His will for me; I pray this it is. I feel very blessed that He has financially brought me half-way so far! Now I just need the other half. Thank you all who have been praying and for those who have also helped financially. I am forever grateful for your help :)!!!!
Here is a brief recap of what God has made possible for me to do on the World Race thus far:
• For month one I worked with children who have severe physical and mental disabilities at Camp Hope in Quito, Ecuador. It was very humbling! I also taught English in the evenings at a church.
• For month two, I worked with with Savage Ministries in Trujillo, Peru. During my time there, I taught poverty-stricken children English, dances, and songs. I also did construction in their compound and helped paint a mural for their classroom.
• I am currently in Caranavi, Bolivia for third month now. I get such a wonderful opportunity two show God’s tangible love at an orphanage called, House of Hope. I feel extremely blessed to be working with these children and I have fallen in love with them. God has taught me that I will have a future working at an orphanage and I couldn’t be more excited!
All of these experiences have been challenging, yet really rewarding; God is really working here! I just ask that you please take a few minutes or so to pray or consider making a donation towards the work that I am doing for these less fortunate, but beautiful children and adults.
If you feel led by God or feel inspired to make a donation, (small or big – every bit matters and is immensely appreciated) please do so at calliefike.theworldrace.org and click “SUPPORT ME” at the top of the page.
Thank you very much for reading this post and for considering!
(P.S. This is a picture of 4 year-old Arron at the orphanage. He has completely captured my heart!)
