Dear family and friends,

I've been apprehensive about writing this post. Since deciding to go on the World Race back in March, I had been wrapped up in my excitement and preparation, checking things off the list: buying equipment, getting vaccinations, telling work, and sending out my support letter. In the last month, I dove deeper into consideration of the step I was taking…a year is a really long time to leave my family and friends, and my relationship with Dustin has progressed into discussions about marriage and starting a family in the next couple years.  Do I really want to put all that on hold for a year?  Through much prayer, seeking wise counsel, and finally talking to the Adventures team, I’ve weighed all my options and decided that the World Race isn't the best choice for me at this point in my life.

I truly believe God is working all things together better than I had imagined.  He's taking care of the details and what I need to do in this moment is to patiently wait on Him. Adventures recommended stringing a few of their Encounter trips together to create my own mini-version of the World Race.  The fall trips aren't published yet, but I'm hoping to go to India to work with orphaned girls and to Thailand and Cambodia to minister to those affected by human trafficking. I will most likely be gone only a month or two total, but am very excited that Dustin and a few friends might be able to join me for part of this mission.  We'll be able to work alongside each other, share experiences, and grow spiritually with the people I know and love.

For anyone wanting to support me financially, please hold off on the donations until the details of the new trip are finalized.  For anyone who has already donated, thank you so much for your support. Your donations will be transferred to my new trip, but please be sure to cancel any automatic payments.  I apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused.  I know this mission is not the same as the World Race, so if you’d like a refund, I will send you a check for the amount donated.

Again, thanks for your prayers and encouragement.  I am blessed beyond measure to have such wonderful family and friends.

I love you all!

Calley
