Where to begin? It’s been 3 weeks since and I’m still processing. Let’s see,  words that come to mind…

INSANE.CRAZY.FUN.EXHAUSTING.CHAOTIC.PURPOSEFUL.POWERFUL.
INDESCRIBABLE.

Each
day was PACKED FULL of stuff to equip us to serve throughout the nations over
the next year.
It was also a chance to get to know the AWESOME
people we will be serving along side next year
. I am so excited to serve with such genuine people who are filled with
SO much passion and joy for our awesome God! Throughout the week I was
stretched, challenged, and encouraged in many ways.

Needless to say it was an intense week, but a much needed one in preparing, in
so many ways, for the year to come.
N Squad: January 2010

The craziness:

·
FREEZING temperatures SO cold = painful numb toes
for several days!

·
Sleeping bunks without electricity. (Thank
goodness for headlamps!)

·
Ice cold brain, red HOT heart!” 🙂

·
Eating food from all over the world & only
three times a day. (Apparently I snack too much)

·
No running water. No toilets. NO SHOWER for 10 days!

·
Wearing the same few sets of clothes layered for
the better part of 10 days. (Apparently weather.com isn’t reliable.)

·
Learning to walk with an open ♥, exposed to God & seeing 100+
passionate peers do the same.

·
Community living with 100 others.

·
Seeing so many lives radically changed!

Final days w/o shower                                            Burn Away                                    Excited for some familiar food

 Just
a few the things I learned:

– That I can live with the bare necessities in the
frigid cold.

– God speaks a lot more than I care to listen. (Working
on the listening part!)

– We don’t have permission to be insecure-there is
too much to do for the Kingdom!

– Expectations are usually not known until they
aren’t met and are often self-centered.

– God is not interested in my comfort or
entertainment-He is interested in my character.

– Sin has lost its power!

– The importance of speaking LIFE into others… so
powerful!

The AIM organization and World Race staff equipped
us with a lot of logistical details and information to keep us safe and as
healthy as possible as we trek around the world with only a 40lb backpack. Most
importantly they sent us out, armed Ephesians 6 style, with the Holy Spirit as
our help to : pray, serve, love, hold, minister, and witness to those the Lord
leads us to. I feel unworthy and uneducated for this calling, but I do believe
with the Lord’s help, HE will be glorified through my weakness!
Acts 20:24
Sunset on our way to evening worship.
