Hey Everyone. Things are going well here in Albania. The people here have been very kind to us. I have learned that people will have a stone cold face until you say hi or smile, then they light up and it is amazing.
The language barrier is a challenge. I remember my first day at my new ministry location, I was locking up the church and a woman comes to the door. She starts speaking Italian and I didnt understand a word she was saying. I told her i didnt speak italian and shrugged, but she just kept on going for about 7 or 8 minutes. This has happened a couple times now…
Our main ministry is with the kids of the area, and it is honestly one of the more beautiful things that ive seen that we are able to connect with the kids even though we cant understand eachother more than a little bit. I think that is one of the crazy ways that the Holy Spirit works. We as believers are able to successfully communicate love to people without words because we have experienced the insane love the Father gives.
The Lord has shown me that at home I would distract myself from uncomfortable parts of my walk with the Him. Whether that be a show, food, or music, I avoided diving deeper into those parts of my life. It is very difficult to distract myself without wifi. It has been a challenge, but I am seeing more doors open and I am excited to see what the Lord has for myself, my team, and the lovely people of Albania.
