Dear Supporters and readers of N Squad
Eight months ago two teams (Team 12:18 and Se7en), were in Kitale, Kenya and experienced some amazing people. We got to work at a school called named “Gilgal”. This was a high school set up for kids who came from difficult backgrounds. They have had parents killed through tribal aparthide, some are orphaned by AIDS, and others are simply from families of extreame poverty.
Yes there are plenty of kids in this situation throughout the world, but that month, something powerfull happened between us World Racers and these kids. During that month we made incredible relationships, and as we left we made a vow that we would help them to ensure that they could continue their education.
The school “Gilgal” is a real testament to the name which Biblically means “to have our shame taken away” These kids are precious, intelligent and have a contagious love for Jesus.
There was one night while at the school, we asked for prayer requests. One student asked for God to provide soap. It broke our hearts to see these kids striving to be doctors and lawyers, and yet their education hindges on the ability to obtain basic living items. Beyond that, the school is yet to build a fourth room for their students who will be entering their senior year, or have enough living space to accept any more kids. The school is living on FAITH. A faith saying God will provide, and I believe that we can be part of that provision.
So friends, supporters and blog followers. I am aware that many of you have given to many organizations. I understand that you have supported us in recent days, but please consider this: part of last year was bringing the good news of Jesus to people around the world, and the other part was sharing in the present work that God is doing in His UNIVERSAL church. Gilgal school is a place where God IS moving and thriving. They have a Christ centered staff, an influence in their local community, and students who understand what it means to be a true student and chase after educating themselves academically and spiritually.
