My Name is Caleb
and I like to dance
Although I’m not gifted
I move to break the silence
Swift and nice would be a lie
Gauky moves for all to see
Truth: I dance for the Lord
Insain a thought as that might be
I get low to Black Eyed Peas
Even if no one else will move
How do I bring two cultures close?
A one-two step will do
Metros, planes, and churches
No area is safe
If music hits my itching ears
I’m gonna “Jai Ho” this place
My favorite memory on this trip
A moment that happened: not planned
Dancing with Nika, a crippled girl
Slowly swaying hand in hand
And still this poem cannot explain
How I dance for God in each song
Cause he’s given me joy, a spirit to move
To quench that would be wrong
I dance for fun, I dance for joy
Even cried and danced in poverty
And if others just see a goofy kid
I’ll still still dance, cause it’s for my Dad to see
