Hey Everyone!
So it has been difficult to post blogs because we were out of internet for a few days, and then when I got to a town to check my emails I talked to my parents and they just didn’t want to share my valuable time =)
BUT…. HERE I AM.
When I was in training with the whole 120 people, we had an assignment: to make a video based off of Matthew 13, “what is the Kingdom of Heaven” . It was actually a competition with the prize being a flip camera, and like all good competitions, my blood boiled with intensity as I was prepared to win at all costs.
The starting gun went off, and the crowds roared with anticipation as the teams of six ameture videographers departed off into the corners of the building to plan out their video.
This team building assignment did its job. Our team wrestled, pushed and pulled at each other to try and figure out how to accurately portray the Kingdom of Heaven; and then reality set in. Our first attempt at a video was dramatic, scerene, and absolutly horrid (and the worst part is that the idea was mine). We filmed calming images of streams of water, reinacted scripture readings under trees, and intense worship in creation. The clips were dubbed over with soothing voices reading verses about the majesty of God and the fact that the kingdom of Heaven is happening now. BUT… we soon discovered that our team lacks editing skills and have limited dramatic genes in our blood. SOOOOOOO
We chucked the seriousness to the wind, had a dear friend Jake from another team edit our film, and then added some great irish music (that is the secret to a good film as i have learned from Boondock Saints ) and taddaaaa here is our video.
I will be updating you all on the intricacies or missionary life tomorrow as I am about to go help out with a youth conference, HOLLLLAAAA, and so I am going to be waking up early to get on the internet and start revealing what is going on in my soul.
But know that I love you, I am encouraged by all of your posts, and hope that you are enjoying my blogs as I am LOVING life on the field.
Please keep me in your prayers!!
your traveling missionary friend
