Howdie Doodie Ya’ll!!
(I have decided to throw in southern jargon …why? Cause it makes me chortle) =) ANYWHOOO
I was thinking about my awesome 60 person team today. And as I pondered asked myself…”who are we?”
I decided we are
WE ARE:
- N Squad.
- Dancing Kings and Queens.
- Facebook fiends.
- Happy as a flea on a fat dog (I love the south)
BUT MORE THAN THAT WE ARE:
- We are the salt and light of the world.
- We are the hands and the feet bringing the gospel to all parts of the world
- We are those who once were dead but have been brought back to life by the grace of GOD! WHICH IS JUST SWEET!!!
SO WHATS THE POINT?
Right now we are 60 unique people who love Christ and are going to be used by Him in amazing ways next year!
But I WANT US TO BE 60 UNIFIED unique people. So I was thinking that our next two months could be some awesome GROUP preparation.
—-THE NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE—-
As we head onto the mission field, I think we should remind ourselves of Biblical missions. I want us to be SPIRIT FILLED, GOD FEARING, and BIBLICALLY KNOWLEDGABLE MEN AND WOMEN OF FAITH!
Therefore I challenge our team to read through the New Testament before we leave.
I understand we have lots to do with support, families and jobs, but we have 64 days before we leave for New Zealand, and so that would mean we would be reading just under 4 chapters a day. I think this could be a cool experience because it will certainly help our understanding and knowledge of God, we would all be reading through the same part of the Bible which could cause some cool questions and discussions, and finally it’s just good for us to be reading the Word.
(interruption in reading accompanied by cheesy game show noise)
This just in from the Late Night Show
~The top 6 reasons why the New Testament Challenge is a good idea!~
1) A simple 4 chapters a day keeps apathy away!
2) Reading the same devotions enables us to ask each other questions about what we read.
3) We can encourage each other (this one isn’t just because of the devotion, but it could be a helpful reminder!)
4) I hear reading makes you look pretty so I need to do a lot more reading.
5) We will be reminded to pray for eachother.
6) Its a great way to just read about the goodness of our God and Savior! HOLLA
Psalms 119:11 “I have stored up your words in my heart that I might not sin against You.”
Ps. I love you all, even if ya’ll don’t want to do this challenge. And anyone who is reading this who isn’t apart of N Squad can gladly join.
