This is a short story from my journal of the last Thursday we were at La Quinta in Nicaragua! Hope you enjoy. =)

I cannot even stop smiling right now. The Lord is so, so good.

Tonight I sat down with Raquel, one of the teenage girls living here at La Qunita. At first we started talking about the trip to the beach we had earlier today, but then she started to share her testimony. As soon as she started talking and I realized that she was about to share with me, I started to freak out a little. I have had a few years of Spanish classes, but I have pretty much forgotten all of that until I started relearning it all in Guatemala. Needless to say I am nowhere near where I need to be to translate someone’s testimony. So, I started to pray;

Lord, she is sharing this with me for a reason.
You have chosen me to be here in this moment to listen.
Lord, You are going to have to show up.
I need my brain to think fast.
I need my brain to remember the words I have learned in the past.
I need to understand.
Lord, I need You to show up.

With that prayer I started to just sit back and listen. Somehow my brain started to move quickly, translating the words into English as she spoke. I started to put sentences into ideas. I started to understand!

I cannot even believe the power the Lord just put into me, a small miracle with so much power. The Lord has blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined 3 months ago. He has allowed me to experience just how powerful He is…and I know this is just the beginning.
