War, natural disaster, and more war. That is the history of the most recent countries I have been living in. Cambodia went through a genocide back in the 70s. Tacloban, Philippines survived typhoon Yolanda in 2013. And next month I will be in Rwanda, which experienced a genocide in the 90s. Pain and suffering woven into the history of these countries.

But in the midst of pain and suffering, Jesus is still present.

This month Abundant Pursuit, and 3 other all female teams from our squad, are partnering with KIM (Kids International Ministry). KIM launched ‘The Lighthouse’ as a response to the typhoon back in 2013. They began different feeding programs in schools and villages that were hit by this natural disaster.

Something beautiful about the feeding ministry is that they are not just bringing literal food, but they are bringing the Gospel which is the bread of life. Yes, these children run to the truck with their bowls, cups, and pitchers for the soup…but then they stay and listen to the gospel.

Today we drove to a village tucked away in the mountains. As we talked about these free gift of love from Jesus, we began to ask these kids, “Have you ever accepted Jesus before” and “do you have a Bible”? As they shook their heads communicating no, some still chose to raise their hands and say yes to this free gift! How beautiful is that?! These children aren’t just physically hungry, but spiritually.

Please continue to pray for KIM and the ministry that they are doing all over The Philippines. Please lift up my parents as they fly out to The Philippines next Wednesday to come and serve with me at Wipe Every Tear, a ministry that serves those in the red light district. Lastly, get excited because I have a big announcement coming next week!
