After a week in Dublin I took a bus to Coleraine, Northern Ireland. This is where four of the six teams in the K-squad have been their first month of ministry working with a Vineyard church. Throw me into a place with double the people and complete change of culture and schedules – whoa, it took me a few days to readjust. Crazy life of a World Racer part two. This time I’m able to be not just with one team but with six different teams that create six different cultures and six different communication styles. Super.
Actually I’m really enjoying it. After the initial shock factor.
When I got to Coleraine I finally got some time to meet with Brian and Stacy. appreciate them SO much. We began chatting in person about the Racer’s first week. And not even consciously knowing it myself before I spat it out, I said, “I am so glad I love these kids because there’s no way I could do this without that.” Love. Yea, I really do love and believe in each of these new Racers.
So, how do I put this. Being with them I’ve been able to share my World Race testimony and who I am dozens of times. I deeply treasure those times because of the glory it brings the Lord. God’s done SO much with me since the day I stepped onto the first plane in September two years ago. I smile most when they don’t believe I was once a shy girl living in religion that didn’t care for people all that much. Each time I share me I’m fully sharing His glorious love and work in me. Love. Yea, I really do love God and His people – learning and growing each new day with lots of grace and mercy 🙂
We need more of this. More Kingdom. More honest and reckless love that changes lives and nations and generations. More freedom from lies and comfort and safety…
I was listening to a sermon from a podcast of Substance Church the other night. Explaining what it really means to be a disciple they shared the words of Jesus in Luke 9. Are we used to the concentrated dose of what our Savior is really asking of us? To follow Him means that it will NOT be comfortable and NOT be convenient as you GIVE UP your own agenda and old way of life. How can we do that? What does that look like – if in fact we will get to do the things Christ did and even greater?
Yea, I really get to do this. >>>More than a program or trip. We get to be Christ on earth. I get to share His love in ways that I NEVER could have imagined unless I gave up my comfort, convenience and agenda.
Thank You, God!
And thanks for reading this…it’s helpful to have an outlet. This processing helps to know I’m not doing this alone. I appreciate you, you lovely little blog reader you.
