I’ve heard before that it is a true calling from God on a woman’s life if she is to become a pastor’s wife. Back in the states I know a couple of women who amaze me by their selfless lives as a pastor’s wife. For example, my friend Darcy’s mom and Mrs. Bowdle truly live a life of ministry next to their husbands. They have God’s true joy and love moving through them as they lead their families and serve in the churches. Their smiles and hearts of outreach and encouragement bless me each time I share in their presence. Bless them and their faith!
This past month we’ve had the opportunity to visit a dozen pastors and their wives as well. They are strong and godly women who play just as much a role as pastor among the people of their community as their husband. In addition to serving the church they serve their husbands and families with peaceful love. They are connected to their husband and they serve equally together. They work together. She is the motivation and heart and prayer behind the scenes. Each one has been a beautiful blessing to meet. They embody the Proverbs 31 woman naturally. Their faith and hope is in the Lord alone. The live each day trusting in God’s provision. Their faithful prayers are moving mountains in their household and churches. They believe the call of their lives and walk each step without wavering no matter the conditions they face. Here are some of their stories:
Pastora Grace met her husband in 1994 at Bible College. They have four young children who have all become their parents prayer warriors. Grace is fully involved with a passion for ministry to the people. They are persecuted because they are new to a devoted Catholic area.
Pastora Fely works along side her husband at their home church. They have five children. She has a beautiful joy and excitement for the people and the purpose of their lives. When we visited the couple she was eager to introduce us to the members of their Bibles studies and reach out with genuine care, concern, and love for the people. She knew them and loved them with all she had.
Pastora Yuni has a sweet peace of worship in her heart. They have two kids who are living for the Lord. She was the first to become a Christian in her family. Prayer requests: youngest child wants to be a missionary, they desire their family to continue to serve the Lord, spiritual growth and more souls to come to Christ.
Pastora Rose has five kids with one on the way. The associate pastor split from the church earlier this year, yet there is no bitterness but friendship as they still work for the same goal. We saw so much unconditional love in her and her family. She’s gentle with her children as she tends to their needs and stands by her husband to love and support him in difficult times. The family trusts in God’s full provision.
Each continue to give endlessly. They believe the Lord will provide their needs as well as the needs of the church and the unsaved people in their areas. And their needs are many from money for transportation to feedings, spiritual depth, Bibles, outreaches to the neighborhoods, guitars and electric fans, buildings or rent money…Please pray for these women, their families, churches, and the people who they reach out to in love everyday.
