That is an excellent question, thanks for asking! CGA stands for The Center for Global Action, a program run by Adventures in Missions. The development of CGA is still in progress and my classmates and I have the honor of helping to shape it into what it will be someday.
The program is designed for alumni World Racers and has three main components: Community, Apprenticeship, and Discipleship. It is a time to explore our calling, give back, and look ahead. I will try to paint you a small picture of what all of this looks like.
Community: I live in a house with seven other people. We have “family” dinners which can include more than 20 people. The community consists not only of other CGA students that live in other houses around Gainesville, but also of the AIM staff as a whole. It is like having a crazy, loud, extended family that just happens to all live in the same town (Except that people leave for various countries almost weekly). From bonfires and worship nights to ultimate Frisbee tournaments and prank wars there is always something to do.
Apprenticeship: This is what takes up the majority of my time. I work in the office in the morning along the other CGAers in our various tracks that we have chosen (non-profit, worship, leadership, and storytelling). I have chosen the story track, so I work with the marketing department and Venture magazine. I am learning so much I can hardly keep my head on straight! We take classes in the afternoons that act as a launching pad for our future dreams and visions. It is so exciting to be on the sending end of missions! We are able to be a part of conducting World Race interviews for admission, World Race training camp and support staff for those who are on the field. We just finished training camp for 250 new Racers who will launch in January. I am so excited to see what God does through all of them.
Discipleship: We are constantly being shaped by those around us. I have a discipleship partner and mentor that I meet with once a week. Outside of that people are constantly pouring into each other. My co-workers, roommates and classmates are a constant source of encouragement.

Right now, I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be. It has been what my soul has been longing for since the whirlwind of The World Race and the busyness of this past summer. I work hard every day, but it is for a cause that I love and have a deep passion for and have the most wonderful people alongside of me on this new journey.
If you would like to be a part of this time in my life, I am still working for a mission organization and have several specific needs that I would appreciate prayer for or your partnership in giving. I will be raising an additional $250 a month (after room/board, tuition, and food) to pay for gas, car insurance and possibly medical insurance (depending on how much I am able to fundraise). I am currently here through December but who knows where this will lead? I am humbled and grateful that I cannot do this on my own because it allows me to share this experience with all of you!
