Hello from NEW ZEALAND!!!!
I have safely arrived and am more excited than ever. We are currently in Crystal Springs, in
Matamata doing some final training and commissioning before we are sent out to
do ministry. We are staying in a
YWAM base and are beyond blessed by their hospitality. There will be lots more
to come but for now I just want to share part of a journal entry that I wrote
on the plane…
“Is this really MY LIFE??? I cannot
even begin to comprehend the plans that God has for me. It is so surreal that after 3 ½ years
of praying, I am finally being sent out. IT IS HERE! I always thought that if I
fully surrendered to God my life would be dull and boring. Boy was I wrong. God knows the desires of our hearts so
intimately that He gives us things we didn’t even know we wanted. I cannot believe that this is what I
have the privilege to do over the course of the next year. WOW!
Goodbyes were rough. They are never easy, but this morning
at the airport had a particular sting. The kind of sting that catches you in
the throat, makes your stomach turn, and you have to remind yourself to
breathe. This wasn’t just goodbye
or “see you later”. It was the
close of a chapter in my life. It
was goodbye to my home, my comfort, and the box I have put myself in. It was
goodbye to California and everything I know. It is a leap of faith and a journey of trust in God. It is
the start of something HUGE
So here it is. The World Race has
started. Am I dreaming??? The answer is yes! The truth is that
this is the realization and manifestation of my dreams, but BETTER! How can you
even express what you feel in a moment like that? All I can come up with is overwhelmed, humbled, and
grateful. Yes, I am saying goodbye to a chapter in my life, but I am opening a
new one. The race contains people like me that are like-minded, like-hearted,
and PASSIONATE! This community is
amazing. It is a chapter in which I will grow, seek the Lord, serve others,
find myself in Him, be empowered, hear His voice, and begin to be the person I
truly want to be. This is the
start of something big and in a lot of ways I feel like it is the beginning of
my life…”
I can’t wait to share this journey with you this year! THANK
YOU for all your love and support to get me here to this point. Many more updates to come shortly. My team will be going to our first
ministry site on sat. Jan 9th! Sending my love to all of you back
home
