I have been praying this entire year that God’s power would be shown tremendously. “Jesus show me your might! I want to see miracles! I want people to see the wondrous works of your hands in the lives of people! I want people’s lives to be so changed that they physically look different one second after they accept Jesus’ blood!”
Well God has spoken this month…
Upon our partnership with India Christian Ministries engaging we decided to start a church in a village together. As we arrived in the village we were greeted by over 60 locals and we immediately had a time of meeting and greeting. We talked about why we were there and it was warmly welcomed.
That night we had a man walk up to the front of our house and ask if we’d pray for him to be healed in the name of Jesus Christ. He was not a believer in Christ, but he knew that the name of Jesus holds power. He was healed of his back pain.
The next day we held a church service with an attendance of around 60 people. A woman chose to receive Christ! After the service the villagers wanted us to pray over many of them.
The next day a man walked up to the front of our house with a pain in his back and asked if we’d heal him. We prayed in the name of Jesus’ and the pain was gone.
A few days after that an old man with a cane walked up to the front of our house and asked for prayer over his knees because he could barely bend them. We prayed in Jesus’ name and the man started lifting his knees up higher and higher surprised by the new strength in them. There were about ten others there and a mini revival broke out as the old man lifted up his hands in praise to God. We all joined in as well. It was so fun!
People are walking up to the front of our house and getting healed in Jesus’ name nearly every day, which is creating a great opportunity for us to share the good news of Jesus Christ’s life providing us with freedom through God’s grace. It is so fun! The next step for this people group is to know the connection between the ONE true God and these healings. It is tough for them to not just add the name of Jesus Christ to their list of millions of other gods since this society is unanimously polytheistic. The God we serve is the one true God and He is the one who heals though. He is the one with the authority to give strength to broken limbs. He is the one who brings understanding and truth. He is the one who gives us abundant and eternal life through His son Jesus Christ. Pray as this church continues to be grounded in Jesus.
