THE NEW’s
New Ministry Site/Service
I am here in the Philippines after quite a long trip. We started in San Jose, Costa Rica. This is the outline of how we got to where we are now.
-Plane from Costa Rica to LAX
-Plane from LAX to Hong Kong
-Plane from Hong Kong to Philippines (Manila)
-Plane from Manila to Mindanao
-Bus from Airport to Malaybalay (2 hrs away)
We are helping Kids International Ministries create a soccer field for their ministry site but planting grass and building a rock wall separating the road from the field. (see video below)
New Team
We had team changes at the beginning of this month. There were only a couple teams that stayed the same but most of the other teams changed around. God has blessed me this next season of life on the race to continue to be a team leader. I am blessed to lead the amazing people including; Angela Aston, Ashley Peterson, Chelsea Angel, Dawn Gorczynski, and Michael Leutwyler.
New Attitude
I absolutely love to worship and one of the ways which I express my heart to the Lord is by playing my guitar. Sometimes I feel like the sounds my guitar conjures up express my heart more accurately than if I were to speak what I am feeling. I don’t even have to sing and I feel that my heart draws into the presence of the Lord when I strike that first cord. Unfortunately I accidentally left my guitar in the trunk of a taxi cab in Costa Rica coming back home from a worship night. When I realized this I wasn’t devastated. I was more bummed about forgetting something than I was about losing the THING. God continues to change my heart for the stuff of this world.
New Routine
I have been serving this month with 4 other teams and all the guys are staying in a room together. Because of this we have been very intentional about “beating our bodies and making them our slave.” We have been waking up every morning and working out together, reading and memorizing scripture. It’s been so awesome to live in a community of men that actually work hard to pursue God. I have been so blessed with this gift of life with this routine.
Prayer Request
Because 33 racers are living together in very close quarters, and literally with the 24 hour clock we are on, it makes things hard for us to grow as individual teams. Also because of the team changes the tendency has been for all 33 of us to not dig in to our new teams. Please pray for unity. The biggest place the enemy wants to attack inside of us is disunity. Please pray for intentionality. We need to buck up and push through this. Please pray for strength. People are getting sick which is making fighting that much more tough. Thanks so much guys! I love you and thank you so much for the prayers.
