My parents have been supportive from the very beginning. They told me that they would match what money I raised, up to half.
In the beginning I had the mind set of "I'm going to raise all this money without my parents having to put money in."
When I got half the money raised and left for the race, I got lazy.
I was relying fully on my parents for money.
I was feeling guilty.
I was also feeling a pull on my heart to tell them to stop putting money in just because I need it. I told them to only put money in when they felt God telling them to. That instead on relying on them I want to rely in God to give me the money I need for the race.
This is what I told them on December 6th at 11:45am.
(Keep in minds, I didn't tell anyone that I was thinking of telling my parents this.)
On December 6th 11:47ish, Austin, my team leader came down and told me that he was proud of me taking a big step closer to God. That my openness and willingness to know God better is inspiring. God had told Austin to reassure me in my desicion and Austin, being a man of God, did!
I had then told Austin what had just happened and we were so blown!
HAHA GOD IS SO GOOD!
I know God will come through for me and get the rest of this $15,500 raised! I only have $4,284.08 left!
