I want this known before you read. I do not know what/how others think. I am using my information strictly from observation. If you feel you might be offended, please do not read.

My views on church life:

In america-
• most people go to church as an act
• it is superficial
• not as family oriented as in the past
• worship is a few songs played to be perfected as a concert
• sermons get shorter and shorter each decade

Malaysia's churches I've been too-
• people go because they want to be in the spirit
• they make due with what they have
• worship in houses or hideaway churches
• people truly want to know God
• they allow their backgrounds to be known to all
• they all want to get to know you individually
• you can see the love they have for God in them

Australia's churches I've been too-
• home group churches
• tight knit community
• family
• sends money to only ministries that have results
• great business plans
• can reach thousands of non-Christians a year
• worship is an hour long
• sermon is at least an hour long
• the pastor gives up the mic to listen to his congregation each week
• communion is taken every week
• both men and women are very involved
• gives the church something to do during the church

World Race: TC-
• worship lasts as long as you want. If you are in the spirit you stay in the spirit and keep worshiping, even if the sermon starts.
• you move around to create a comfortable space unordered to worship
• sermons capture each of us and can last for a couple of hours
• gives us assignments to do during church
• open mic
• laid back
• non judge mental

World Race: On the Race-
• going to churches and doing what they do
• worship nights with no time limit
• devotionals
• quiet time
• iPod worship
• listening prayer
• real talks

There is no one way of church. It is all about finding how you can see God. For me, I need worship and to be comfortable around the people I am with. It is easy for me to feel judged so I won't make myself vonerable which means I won't get to have time with God. I also don't like having time limits on worship. That is like putting a time limit on God. I also like having a great sermon. I have come to like Ron Walborn very much. I also come to like the open mic time at church in Australia. I mean how many pastors have you seen give up their mic to hear what God has done in someone else's life in the past week!? But like I said, there is no one way to have church. You just have to find what works for you!
