Being in Australia is way different than being in Malaysia…

WE CAN WORSHIP IN PUBLIC!!

Tonight we decided to have worship and team time outside at the small kichen/playground.

There were already kids there playing and laughing when we showed up.

Momma P got them to sing a song about resting your feet by sitting (idk lol) but it got the kids to open up.

We started worship and the kids sat around.  Some were looking around.  Looking around.  Some were laughing and giggling.  But one eight year old boy, Martin, started to lip sing and took in the experience.
You could tell that God was speaking to him, whether he knew it or not.

Next thing I noticed was an older lady coming over to sit down.  She stayed and sang softly.

A few moments later, the parents of the kids came and sat and worshiped as well!

We came to find out later that this mom and dad had six young children, two girls and four boys.  All of which were the cutest kids ever!!

After a few more worship songs we asked if anyone needed prayer.  Keep in mind that we are staying on a compound for ill and injured natives going and coming from the hospital.  So they all need prayer! smiley

I had heard that the people don’t really interact or even know God so im thinking no one was gonna say yes, I need prayer.

The parents, elderly women, and two others who just walked up all asked for prayer.

The family just recently had a cousin who was murdered.  Their second son, third child Peter had pellets and metal in his stomach.  How they got there, im not sure.  But we prayed for everyone in there family tonight and the others as well, of course.

After prayer, we sang Amazing Grace because that was the one song the family knew.

So we sang.

The kids each played with each of us.

Martin was drawling in Emily’s journal but then started to write in Leanne’s journal.

He wrote a story about his weekend but he was still learning to spell so he’d ask how to spell some words.

But he tried so hard to do it himself.

He was sounding out the words.

Looking at us for help.

And desperately trying to do it right.

But his little voice sounding out each letter and the joy he had when he spelled it right brought tears to my eyes.  (it reminded me of the movie Overboard when the boy is finally learning to read.)
I just thought about the potential he has and I wondered if he would be able to get the right help?  If he will be pushed to do greatness?

I have complete faith that God will do much work thought Martin.

With the look I saw in his eyes during worship, I know he’ll do greatness.

I pray that Martin has the strength to love, learn, and TEACH others about God!
