…To join me in a life changing adventure, following my heart, serving GOD, and exploring His world.
This fall, I will be taking a break from my Elementary Education studies at the University of Kentucky to follow a dream that God has laid on my heart!
WHO is this through?
The World Race Gap Year Program: http://www.theworldrace.org/gapyear.
Over nine months, I will travel to three different regions across the world–South East Asia, Africa, and Central America–spending three months in each region, and serving God through partnerships with organizations who serve the people in that community.
WHAT will I be doing?
I will be traveling with a group of about 7-8 other young adults, partnering with churches, school, orphanages, and other organizations, serving the locals in the name of Jesus. We will be living in community with the people, building friendships, loving and serving each of them, as Christ has loved us. With the main goal being that we will be able to tell them the Good News!
WHEN do I leave?
I will be leaving September 6, 2014 and returning May 16, 2015! I will be gone for 252 days.
(Yes, I will miss my family a whole lot)!
HOW can I pay for this?
In a letter like this, you might assume that I will be asking you to support me… well, you are correct!
I need ALOT of support. I need a lot of prayer. A lot of encouragement. A lot of love. As well as a lot of money. This trip will cost about $12,000 in total. Yes, I know that’s a lot!
I have personally moved home this semester and have used all of the money I have saved from that, as well as money I make babysitting to also go towards my trip!
I would like to ask that anyone who feels called to help me financially would donate either online (through my blog), or mail a check to “Adventures in Missions” with my name on the memo line. Any and every amount helps and is so incredibly appreciated!
I just ask that you consider joining me both prayerfully, as well as financially as I take this step in my faith, and see what God has in store for me this year as I do my best to love and serve His people!
