A few disclaimers for this blog:
1. I write all my blogs on my phone so I can’t make my blogs look all cool and such with snazzy photos but I have a world race album via Facebook that has pictures that go to all of my blogs.
2. This is a piggy back off of my honor blog from last week.
One of the greater things in life is that we, as human beings, didn’t just appear. God gave us people to help shepard us. Unlike Adam and Eve, we have what I like to call good old parental units a.k.a. parents.
Now whether your parents are the greatest humans that ever walked the planet or the word “pain” is the only thing that you can associate when you think of your parents, the Lord had some mysterious reason of blessing us with them.
Last week in my blog I talked about my M Squad World Race brothers and sisters, and today I’m going to talk about their parents.
Since the beginning of this crazy journey that the Lord has brought me on this past year, my squad mates parents have “adopted” me as one of their own. From beginning of launch until now. It’s just so wild when I think about people who are so good at demonstrating our father’s love!
Two memories stick out the most.
Back around the time of the holidays, I wanted to plan something for my team the river dancers. It was early into the race and I think it’s fair to say we were all a little homesick when turkey day and Christmas rolled around. I reached out to some of my teammates parents at the time to plan something special for each of those holidays. They got right on board and helped make it a memorable time during that season. I really got an inside look on how much they love their kids(my teammates) and how much they missed them.
The second memory is a recent one from the parent vision trip. My squad mates parents decided to bless their kids with washing their feet!
*insert tears*
I think I may have mentioned that in one of my other blogs. But still gives me goosebumps every time I think of it. The selfish sacrifice of having a servants heart in that moment did something in that room that night that will remain unforgettable.
I do not know all of their stories, is all I know are the few encounters I’ve been blessed with throughout the race with the parents of M Squad.
M squad parents: Thank you. Thank you for sending my squad mates. Thank you for being there during the easy, the hard, the ups and the downs. Thank you for not only being there for your own, but every person on this squad.
We really are just a bunch of puzzle pieces from all over that weirdly but magically work together as the body as Christ.
Parents, you are on this journey just as much as we are. And I can tell you this we are so pumped to see you guys!
And a thank you to my 4 parents for being there during my journey. Especially mamma bear and papa bear, thank you for your wisdom you por into me every face time call and prayers at the end of every conversation. Your supper does not go unnoticed. Love you from your D5.
