Hello from month 9, Romania!!
I’m writing this blog to tell you I AM OFFICIALLY FULLY FUNDED! And it’s all thanks to each one of you and God.
3 years ago when I gave up my job and moved to Los Angeles, never did I think after my two years there God would ask me to up and leave again, without a job and do a third year of fundraising! Especially not one that is almost $17,000.
I had found out about my race when I was 20 on my first mission trip. I knew at some point I wanted to do it, but let the dream fade away when I went to leadership school. Until October of 2015.
I knew I didn’t want to live in L.A. anymore after my second year graduating and thought well maybe it’s time I look into the race. I found a route I loved and told God “okay, I’ll apply and if I get accepted I’ll go, and if not i know you’re not calling me.”
One day as I’m at the library returning books, I get a call. “Brooke you’ve been accepted to the October 2016 route!” I quickly dropped in the middle of the parking lot with excitement.
Alright God I guess we are doing this thing.
I was nervous because at the same time I had to get a deposit in for the race, I was still fundraising my second year tuition. Never did I think I would make it. But oh how I was wrong. Y’all God is so good!!!! Like I can’t explain it all. After 3 years of fundraising, nearly 30,000 between my two years in leadership school and the world race, debt free, I can honestly say NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR OUR GOD!
I have learned so much on the race and am extremely grateful to each of you who have helped me reach all of my deadlines. I’m excited to finish out the race stress free of funding. It’s not easy depending on other people for what the Lord has called you to. But in the end it is worth everything.
Thank you again friends and family, strangers who donated, who have prayed, and have stuck by my side through talk of this. You guys are amazing and awesome and because I am fully funded I’ll be able to finish out the race!
Love you all, God bless
