Picture this.
We arrive at a restaurant and sit down. Soon a young waiter comes by to take our order. As we wait and banter between us the young man comes back and begins to try and make small talk. We are slightly confused by his questions and a few are even a little agitated. He brings our order and goes back to the kitchen area. Then it happens. I look up from my Milo Ice (chocolate milk) just in time for our eyes to meet. We share a smile and the moment ends. In that moment, though, that young server took a place in my heart and an intense love for him was sparked.
Sounds romantic right? In a way it is but not the earthly romance you are thinking of. This love that I have for our waiter turned friend is not of me. From that moment I believe God gave me His love for our young waiter friend. What amazes me is that in Him giving me that love, I am reminded of His love for me. It is intense! I know God wants this young man and loves him greatly. The intensity of that love and longing for him to be near beats in my own heart.
This must be what God felt when Jesus died and the veil was torn. This must be what Jesus felt as He looked out over the people, across the ages. This is how They both felt about me when I was wandering far. This is the intense love They feel for you.
Can you feel it?!
Can you see the love in a tear streaked face. The face of One calling you to come to Him?
That call, that love is for you and me and my friend. God loves us. It’s more than a cute saying to perk up someone’s esteem. It is a true love. It is a real love. It is an intense love!

Please pray for our friend. At this point we are unable to share Christ openly with him, but we know Jesus wants him, and we can show him that love through our actions. Pray that a seed is somehow planted and an opportunity opens up.
