Lioness. Renewal. God’s love.
What do each of these have in common?
They have six beautiful ladies, and myself, and the breath of the Holy Spirit in common. You see while at training camp we were given our teams and then sent out for an afternoon to make memories. I am ecstatic to present to you, dear readers, Team ROAR- Renewed On Abba’s River!
Left to right: Kaiulani Houston, Anna Friedges, me, Holly Swaney, Kaycie O’Neil, Rachel Sperry, and Ellen Scott (our team leader)
Our team began with a few rough patches, none of us really sure that we were the best team for each other. During the end of our team building exercise we were asked to pray and then speak out the strengths we saw God showing us within this team. As we did God did a total turn around, a renewal, if you will, of our minds and hearts toward each other. It was not until later it was announced that this, indeed, would be our team.
To be honest I wrestled with a few different thoughts as the teams were announced. A little bit of fear and discontentment played on the edges of my thoughts, but as we began the journey up the hill to our vehicles (previously known as Africa) I was reminded that my squad leaders, trainers, and mentors put a lot of prayer into this. God doesn’t make mistakes, and He has me with these particular ladies for reasons none of us really know yet. I am excited to see just what what He is going to do.
God has breathed His Holy Spirit on us, given us the strength to be lionesses, and renewed us on the banks of the river of His love.
We are Christ’s hear us ROAR!
Through Christ,
Brooke
