Wow! Hi! You came here to read about me! That’s awesome! πŸ™‚

Here’s | t h i r t e e n | things about me! (I tried to just fit 11, but that was too short!)

| o n e | I’m from Palmer, Alaska and am currently living in Juneau, Alaska while I wrap up my English degree at University of Alaska Southeast Juneau! I love both of these places so much! God has given me wonderful roots in each place. Juneau is so cool-it has all these fabulous mountains AND the ocean, although I do love Palmer’s mountains (so majestic!). If I’m not inside reading/sleeping/watching cute videos of manatees, then I love to be outdoors.

| t w o | Some things I love to do: laugh, play, learn and teach!

| t h r e e | MANATEES. OH MY GOSH, they’re my favorite animal. I just think they’re the sweetest, cutest, best animal ever. Every Monday is Manatee Monday, you can join me in celebration if you want. πŸ™‚

| f o u r | I love Taylor Swift. I can jam to her any time of day. For better or for worse, I practically know all the words to all her songs. Seeing her live and singing “Love Story”—just like my 12-year-old-self always dreamed of doing—was one of the highlights of my summer, for realsies.

| f i v e | I went abroad for my sophomore year of college and lived in Bielefeld, Germany for a year. YES, it exists! πŸ˜‰ It was an amazing year of learning, seeing, and growing. The biggest lesson I learned was probably how to live amidst challenge; I didn’t know any German when I arrived! But I loved the process of learning German and coming to love the language and the city.

| s i x | I’ve been to 11 countries! In order of appearance: Guatemala, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, and Belgium! I was able to travel while I was in Germany, and it was one of the best things about living abroad! Ironically, I never went to France…even though it was the only language I’d studied before I went to Germany. (Oh…I guess I’ve been to Canada, but Alaskans don’t generally count that! haha.) My favorites were definitely Denmark and Croatia!

| s e v e n | That first country, Guatemala, has a super special place in my heart. It was on a mission trip there that I first realized I had a heart to go and serve the lost both near and far.

| e i g h t | The World Race has excited me ever since I went to Guatemala and I am so thankful that God has opened up this opportunity. I can’t even imagine what He’s going to do; who I’ll meet, where I’ll be, what I’ll learn…”excited” doesn’t even begin to cover what I am feeling. I don’t even know what I’m the most excited for! WHAT IS THIS LIFE? God is so faithful.

| n i n e |My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I am convinced. I am convinced that nothing can separate me from the love of God. No matter where I am, I know that He is with me and that He goes before me.

| t e n | I read the Old Testament for the first time this summer (’15)! God as a just and loving father really resonated with me, I loved reading the Old Testament. This semester, I am reading through the whole New Testament. This will be my first time reading completely, straight through the Bible. I’m STOKED! πŸ˜€

| e l e v e n |A word: fullness. I do not want to be empty in my actions, my words, my love, my life…I want to be Spirit-filled and driven. I am continually learning to place my time and energy into the things that last- loving, obeying, listening for, and sharing Jesus.

| t w e l v e | My friends are the best. I don’t know how I could have worked through questions, excitement, heartache, and happiness in the 5 years that I’ve been a Christian if it wasn’t for the wonderful people God has placed in my life. Palmer, Germany, Juneau…so much love. Thank you for accepting my weird hiccups, my trains of thought, my awkwardness, my weird noises, my manatee obsession, the way I sing T-Swift at all times, for hanging out with me even though I keep my room at 85*, and for pointing me to Jesus and love when I needed it most. XOXO I should add that my family is amazing, too. I have this great sense of groundedness from their support that allows me to dream in big ways (even if those ways take me away from them!)

| t h i r t e e n | This blog is to let you in! I want to share where I am, what God’s doing. where I’m going…and I want to take you all along. I had a lot of fun blogging before, and I’m excited to extend the invitation again. Hope you subscribe and get some laughs, see Jesus, and share in my adventure!
