It’s been a wild ride from Central America to Asia.

I was in four countries in four days each with three 12-hour layovers in between. In the span of 24 hours I crossed 3 calendar days because of the direction we crossed timezones. (Talk about mind boggling and jet lag.) But I arrived in Bangkok, Thailand safe and sound and for the first time in 4 days was able to sleep horizontally on a most welcome concrete floor in an unfinished Thai apartment building to the hum of 6 fans that faithfully worked all night to move the stale humid air.  Let me tell you, I slept like a rock. I will never take sleeping horizontally for granted again.

During our time in transition, we made some team changes. People were raised into new leadership positions as we prepare to say goodbye to Mike and Stacey, our current squad leaders who have walked us through these first three months. As a result, I am on a new team, Salt Shakers, which reflects our teams heart to be the salt of the earth. I know I am going to really enjoy this month getting to know my new team mates better. Our first days together have been spent doing lots of laughing and encouraging.  I will be walking alongside some very powerful people working for the Kingdom of God and these are the people I would be proud to stand beside if the Lord were to come back today.

I was debriefed today on Thai culture and am so excited to experience it. Even after a day orienting myself with where we are in Bangkok I can tell I have alot to learn from these shy, hardworking people.  And that’s in Bangkok. Tomorrow morning I will be traveling to Northern Thailand, about 8 hours from here. From what I understand the culture there is much more traditional.

My team looks forward to walking alongside university students and learning as much from them as they will from us in all areas of life.

Pray today for:
