Sometimes we question God, because we don’t believe that He can do what He says He can do. Our faith is little, or we place it in a box never allowing it to grow. Is that YOU?? I can 100% say that is me. I don’t always have the faith I’m supposed to or believe in God to do things! I don’t always stand on His words or His promises, but He loves me anyways.

Orphans United

While in Haiti we were blessed with the opportunity of working with a local orphanage. I was nervous about going for whatever reason. I mean i love everything about kids, but I have parents. I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to be able to relate or what exactly to do with them. However, when we arrived at the orphanage and they open the gate I knew what God wanted me to do! As they came running towards us, God said to me “just show them love.” All these children that I have never met were hugging me and I hugged them right back.  It was just a beautiful thing to be part of.

What I found very interesting about these children is that they are so united. I don’t really know they’re back round or how long all of them have been there, but they work together as if they are a biological family. The girls help the “mother” (the woman in charge of the orphanage) do all the chores. The older kids assist the younger kids when they get hurt or when they need to put on some clothes. (*remembers the child who was running around without pants on.*)  They care about one another, they love one another, they simply are a family. They don’t have much, but that doesn’t matter. They are content with someone in the world loving them. They are happy just where they are.

They Are Just Like Us

Orphans in other countries are no different then we are. They have hopes, dreams, and aspirations. They desire to have good jobs, getting married, have a family, provide for their family. Meet my little friend!

He’s cute right! This little man wants to be a surgeon when he gets older. A SURGEON…not just a doctor, but A SURGEON!!!!! When he told us a few of us got emotional. For me its because he talked about it great length. He wanted to go to college. Then get to “doctor school.” He wants to help people! To be in his situation and still have dreams is awesome. It motivated me to come back and get control over my dreams and aspiration. I want to see him succeed. I’ll be spending A lot of time praying for him! Next!!!

These are my shy lovely girls. I constantly called them “bel,” which means beautiful in creole. They don’t get told they are beautiful enough. When I was talking to them… well ya know trying to communicating. Using the few words I knew and then bugging Billy our translator to “translate for me Billy.” They are really good at doing hair. They want to one day be married and have children of their own. They want to attend a university to further their education. They want to visit me in America (who knows how long I’ll actually will be her for 🙂  Most importantly they want to be loved, and they already are. They know about God and his love.

He Loves Us All

After much time spent with these amazing and beautiful children they taught me something that only the could teach.

1.) God loves us all

2.) We need to truly love one another as brothers and sisters

3.) We were created equal

I leave you with an excerpt out of my journal while in Haiti “It broke my heart to see all the kids in the orphanage. A number of them have scares and wounds on them. I wonder what happened to them? They don’t have the greatest clothing, but they are happy. They were really excited to see us and welcomed us… They were intrigued by my yarn hair. We played soccer. We colored. They want to know so much about us. One girl told me she loved me for coming here. I told her I loved her, not because she said it because I do. I love each of them. I don’t want to leave ever.”

Keep the faith guys! If he can provide and love children who are not in the most wonderful predicaments, than he can do the same for you. God loves you. He pursues you. He provides for you. Keep your eye on HIm!

 Peace.Love. N Christ
