And into Asia…
P-Squad is now safe and sound in Manila! We are all staying in a house/compound tonight and some of us are heading off to Mindanao tomorrow morning while a few other teams are heading off in another direction in a few days. Some will be sticking around at the place we are staying now…
It’s just good to travel as the whole P-Squad, we are a force to be reckoned with, and considering how many people we have, and that no one’s bags have ever been lost or stolen, it is a force that the Lord is providing!
I am super excited to finally be able to stretch out and sleep on a mattress as it has been a couple of days. I am more excited to be in Asia! Although when I really slow down and think about the fact that this is month 8 my eyes tear up a bit…and my heart starts palpitating. These 63 men and women that I travel and live with have become my family. They have become closer than most of the friends I have ever had. It brings with it both good and bad things, but I am trying to make the most of every time that we are together, because it will never be like this again. In four more months, we may never actually all be able to get together ever again. I don’t want to believe that that is true, I have every expectation to have these people as a part of all of the major events of my life, but I know that getting 64 people (+ those who have left) all together in one place and at one time…well that is mostly wishful thinking.
I miss my genetically related family of course, as well as those I left back at home or at school…but I have changed so much over these past 7 months, and I know that these are the people who have not only seen that change, but some of them helped to effect this change and may frankly be the only people who understand what I am going through when I get back home.
I started this blog as just an announcement that I am safe and sound, but wow look where it went…
I love the way God is moving in and through P-Squad and I would greatly appreciate your prayers as we transition into the last section of our race. Pray especially for our squad leaders here on the field (Joshua & Lia) as well as those at home (Janina, Kim, Kyla) as they are transitioning just as much as (if not more than) we are.
Thank you God for your peace and protection over us as we traveled, may we continue to bring you all the honor, glory, and praise!
Amen.
