If any of you have ever seen SNL (Saturday Night Live), then you have seen a portion of the show where Seth Myers and Amy Poelher or previously Amy and Tina Fey address the duh moments of society. I am just going to take a moment to highlight the really!?! this is happening right now!?! moments of my final exam preparations…
This past Thursday which was Reading Day (or our day without classes before final exams), while hosting the “Hill Grill” and dressed like a redneck – I somehow managed to scratch my cornea, leading to severe pain and excess watering of my left eye…pain became even more intense after taking out my contacts – have been wearing glasses ever since
Next day, wake up go to the gym, find that breathing through my nose feels weird and felt like I might be coming down with something, or allergies were acting up…go to the gym anyway and just feel kind of rough for the rest of the day
Saturday, wake up, cannot breathe through my nose and have been suffering from some sort of sinus infection/cold/flu thing since then – I do have three finals, some journal entries and a wikispace project to complete by Wednesday but all I want to do is sleep (also turns out chicken noodle soup isn’t on the menu for this week either).
Now, usually this kind of bug doesn’t hit until I am done with finals, when my body comes down from it’s hyper vigilant state – but I’m not that stressed about finals this year, in fact I am somewhat removed from all of it, so perhaps my body has confused now with the usual week after… I have managed to stay healthy all semester, but this is when it hits. Really!?! Haha, I don’t really know what to think of all of this, I mean I’m glad it is happening now and not when I am at training camp, or that first little bit of the trip, but I am kind of wondering what exactly I am sick with and how much longer will it last. I am getting about 9 hours of sleep a night, I dress appropriately for the current weather (windy and kind of cool), I have been getting adequate levels of vitamin C, I wash my hands…it’s just kind of funny. I really don’t mean to complain, and have no desire to do so, I just find it ironic that this is when the illness strikes – just a few more days and I can sleep to my hearts content, but until then it’s studying and writing.
