So I am lovin K to da Enya!  There is some terminology/foods/events that I think are fun things to know so here you go (rhyme!):

.)  “Message”:  Can mean anything from a 15 minute testimony to an hour long sermon.

.)  Little Brittany and Big Brittany:  Since there is another Brittany on my team (Brittany Cox) we have become known as “Big Brittanyâ€ (me) and “Brittany Smallâ€ (B. Cox) oh Africa!

.)  Soda:  They give us soda EVERYWHERE we go here, schools, after church, while we are waiting for pastor randomly.  It’s nice but a LOT of soda.

.)  Mzungu:  This is yelled at us by little children everywhere we go, it means “white personâ€ or “person from the westâ€  often times it is follow by “how are you? How are you? I am fine!!!â€

.)  Braids:  It was about a four and a half hour process but I got great authentic African braided weave!!  It itches.  I can’t wash it, but I look more like myself than ever!!

.)  “You look so smartâ€:  When people here tell you that you look “smartâ€ it means you look cute.

.)  Van Man:  There is the nicest man who lets us pile in his van occasionally and he carts us to the far away schools, his name is Bennett.

.)  Drinking Chocolate:  Woah!  This stuff is gooood, it’s basically just hot chocolate but it makes me feel like it’s Christmas so I think it’s notable J

.)  Chipati:  This is like the tortilla of Africa, it’s this flat fried bread, I will learn how to make it and make it for you all!

.)  Time:  When and African says “church starts at 9â€ that could me 9:00 or 9:27 or 9:30 or 9:45 or 9:59.  There is a common phrase here “Mzungus have the watch, Africans have the time.â€

This is a cow that lives right next to us, it greets us everytime we come home!  We have yet to name it, any ideas?!?
