Okay…The Awakening. Four days. 300 current World Racers. 70+ alumni and staff. Spirit filled teaching. Freeing worship. YES PLEASE. Over the course of these four days I felt challenged, broken, honored, and empowered. I walked into the Promise Land of trusting the Lord. I was reminded that sometimes we have to feel the pain of Love to truly know how to Love as the Father Loves. There are several new things I experienced at the Awakening…
Fire Tunnel. So there’s this thing called a “fire tunnel” – it’s like when you were five years old and your soccer team won and your parents formed a tunnel for you to run through and there were juice boxes at the end. Only this time there are no juice boxes, but words and gifts from the Lord!…It was absolutely as crazy as it sounds. 🙂
Declarations in worship. One of the speakers shared about David and Goliath. David was anointed as king and when he saw that there was opposition he rose up to defend what the Lord had declared as his. What did David do? He cut the head off of his enemy! David knew who he was and that the Lord had a plan for him and he fought for his inheritance. In the same way we are called to step into the call that the Lord has put on our lives. We are not to be paralyzed by fear or buy into the lies of the devil. We are empowered to cut the head off of our enemies in victory!! One night as Jonathan and Melissa Helser led worship we declared our victory and CUT THE HEAD OFF THE DEVIL!!!!!!!!
Worship from our wells. I went to a session led by the Helsers about worship; it was goooood. The Lord has been teaching me a lot about worship lately and how He has put a song inside of me and each of His children has their own voice. We spent one night of worship just lifting our voices to the Heavens; so many of us have been told “you don’t have a good voice” but the Father has put a song in all of our hearts. Brothers and sisters, no one can sing to the Father the same way you can so I encourage you to worship from the wells inside of you!
These are just a few crazy highlights from the Awakening; needless to say it was a good time of growth and I feel as though something was absolutely “awoken” in me over these four days.
