Hey all!
I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where I am! First off, huge thank you to all of the people who have supported me so far! I’ve had donations from $5 to $500 in the past few months. I am incredibly humbled when I see that many of my donors are friends of friends, aka: people I don’t even know personally. Shout out to MasterCard employees, for they are definitely representing well!
The t-shirt sales were a HUGE success, raising over $1000 towards this trip! By popular demand, I am actually putting out another order for more of the shirts! It’s been awesome to see people all over SIUE wearing the shirt. So, they are still $20, sizes YM-3XL and I’m putting the order out on Friday! The mint green color turned out to be much more popular (it looks even cooler in person) but both green and blue are available again. You can see pictures of these options in my photo section!
I’m also excited to announce that I will be doing a campaign called World Race Wednesday every month! What is a World Race Wednesday? It’s a day to raise awareness of the support I need! This month’s World Race Wednesday is next Wednesday, 4/15/15. I’d love to see everyone who got a shirt wear it if that’s possible! If you wear it, share it! Put it on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags: #BrittanyWRW #11n11 and a caption to tag along if you want! If you are ordering a shirt this time around, unfortunately it won’t be in on time. But fear not! You can partake in the coming months!
Though support raising is going well, I am still in need of many supporters! So I am launching a second campaign called Sponsor-a-Day! Credit to one of my teammates, this is a cool and unique way to get involved! If I broke down the remainder of my needed support, it would end up being $40 a day while I’m gone. So here is how it works: pick a day, any day! This could be your birthday, an anniversary, a holiday or a random day! Now, you’ll sponsor the day you chose! So, you’ll pay $40 for that day to sponsor it. What I will do is mark that day in my calendar and journal about what I did and take a picture of what I saw. The next time I have access to wifi, I’ll email you the picture and what I wrote! You will get to see exactly what your money went towards! The $40 is done the same way as all donations. For tax-deductible donations you can donate online under the “Support Me” tab or via check made out to Adventures in Missions.
