Good day, beautiful friends!

I’m incredibly excited to share with you my post-grad endeavors! For quite some time, figuring out what I was doing after I graduated was like a blind mouse in a maze; I had no idea where I was going. It wasn’t until a friend of mine asked me to support her on something called the World Race that I started to feel a little more direction. Towards the end of summer, I started researching this mission trip. I called and asked questions, I looked at my finances to see if it was even possible and asked for prayer as I navigated this possible option after graduating. Come October, the applications were released. I applied and was accepted to leave in September 2015 on a life-altering experience. I was excited, freaking out and in disbelief all at the same time.

Against popular belief, the World Race is not the same as the Amazing Race. It is an 11 month mission trip that travels to 11 different countries around the world. I will have a new country and new ministry every month. My countries include; Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines. Each country will be a different experience. Ministry includes but is not limited to teaching English at local schools, helping out at orphanages, showing prostitutes their worth and bringing them to safe homes and physical labor like building, painting and helping those living off the land. We go to serve our contacts in any way they need it!

So, why would I do something like this? The real question is why not? Why go straight to grad school or into the work place when I can take advantage of this time in my life to experience new things with new people? I really don’t have anything tying me down so I figured it was the best time to do something of this nature! I will have a squad of roughly 40 people going to each country. I will spend everyday with about 6 of those 40 people throughout the 11 months. No, I don’t know these people yet but yes, I can’t wait to meet them! If you know me, you know how much I love people. Having the chance to meet and know people that will quickly become family gets me pretty pumped. I will spend the holidays, the good and the bad days with these people. Life will be odd without them when I return!

Alright, logistics. Most people have the same response; how much does something like this cost?! It is not pocket cash, it’s $16,260. That includes everything; all travel (international and local), food, shelter and insurance. For this, I will be raising support. I need two main types of support; prayer and financial. I have full faith that over the next year, I will have enough raised to go. If only 50 people gave a dollar a day for 11 months, I’d have all I need to go! So as you read this, I ask you to please prayerfully consider giving. You can do the monthly gift or commit to a one time gift. You can give right here on this page by clicking the button that says “Support Me” and it will redirect you to my account. There is no processing fee and all donations are tax-deductible. The other way I can accept donations is via check. Please contact me if you’d like to donate in this way! You could be thinking of all these reasons to pass up on this. This is a team effort and every single donation counts! You are just as much a part of bringing women in prostitution to a safe home as I am!

The cool thing about this blog is that you will stay updated. You will see exactly what your donation did! This blog will be my means of communication while I am gone and I have every intention to keep my support team, family and friends updated. I will be posting pictures and great videos (shout out to my mom for a GoPro for my birthday!!!) every month along with stories and a glimpse of life on the field. You can subscribe on the left to receive email updates when I post!

With your prayer and financial support, God is going to use me to do great things all over the world. Consider joining my team, you won’t regret it!

Much Love,

Brittany
