I know I've been MIA for a while now. But let me tell you what's been going on lately.
First, back in August I went back to Camp Elim to volunteer for 10 days. I've been serving at Camp for the last 3 summers. For those of you who don't know what Camp Elim is I'll tell you. It is a Christian camp in Woodland Park, Co(just outside of Colorado Springs). I come back to volunteer at camp as often as I can, normally I'm either working in kitchen or as a counselor. Anyway, I'm at camp in August trying to figure out what I should do about my work situation back in Fort Collins (awful management, do I stay or quit?), and while at camp I start to seriously consider soming back to camp and serving for the remainder of the fall season. However, the camp director of course is on vacation this week so it'll have to wait to talk to him about doing so. So in the meantime, I have a few people praying with me over the possibility. Then after a couple days back home, I quit my job, tell my landlady I will definitely be moving out at the end of the month. Then the next day I call up the camp director.
How'd the call turn out?
Well, since September 2, I have been living in Woodland Park, CO serving at Camp Elim. Just yesterday we finished an 18 day stretch of continuous camps(mainly guest groups). Our normal summer camps are over so I have been mainly working backstage in the kitchen. I love getting to serve alongside these wonderful people. Even our guest groups have been quite wonderful lately.
So, I will continue living and serving here at Camp Elim until shortly before Thanksgiving, when I get to figure out where I will be living for the remaining month and a half before I launch in January.
I love being at Camp Elim. I mean, being up in the mountains, really intensifies the camp high people can get. I always feel so much more connected to my God when I'm here, and I love that feeling.
Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on where I am right now.
