Expectation: I’ll write at least one blog a week. I mean what else will I have to do during my down time. Maybe I’ll even blog twice a week. But let’s not get carried away.
Reality: Decides to fast from screens for the first two weeks of race. Finally sits down at computer and my heart starts racing. Thinks that maybe I should take a break from blogging and get to know my squad mates. Tries again. Squad mates are now playing games, playing with children, watching movies, and now a spontaneous dance party. Well I don’t want to miss out on any of these fun activities. So I close down my very empty blog entry and walk away…
And then I wake up in Nicaragua and realize it’s month 3 and I still haven’t blogged. Yes, I am choosing to be present on the race but I also need to choose to make you, my family, friends, and supporters just as a part of this experience as I am. So to everyone who has hoped to receive updates about my experience and all the ways that God is working through this journey..
Get ready! I have two and a half months to catch you up on. We have witnessed Gods miracles From the tops of the mountains in Panama, to the slums of Costa Rica, and now to the dumps in Nicaragua. Although this journey isn’t always easy we are constantly pursuing the desire to go in to the nations to serve and love all of God’s children around the world.
Until next time..

This is Anyelka, one of the many children who comes to the Bethel Center of Hope – a feeding center that provides hot meals, bible lessons, and a safe place for so many children in Rivas, Nicaragua. Thanks to your support I get to love and play with children like Anyelka everyday!
