I have been given an exciting opportunity to be involved with this next year. Over the past year, God has been laying the idea on my heart of possibly doing some more missions work. I wasn’t sure whether to pursue it now, or after I finished my nursing degree, but God answered my prayer last month when I found out that I did not get into a nursing program for this next year. After lots of thought and prayer, I decided to apply to a year-long mission trip with Adventures in Missions (AIM) called The World Race, and I recently found out that I have been accepted!
The World Race is an 11 month mission trip that goes to 11 different countries. My 11 month trip begins June 1, 2010, and there is a 10 day training camp about 3 months before the start of the trip in Georgia, where AIM is located. Some of the countries I will be ministering in include Ireland, Ukraine, Romania, Israel, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, and Cambodia. The ministries that I will be involved with include teaching English, visiting orphanages, Vacation Bible School, building churches, door-to-door evangelism, sports camps, and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone I meet.
I am really excited for this opportunity God has given me and I believe He will provide everything I need. In order for this trip to happen, I need people who will partner with me in praying for this trip, during all my preparations and the actual trip. I also need to raise financial support. The total cost of the trip for the year is $14,300.00 + domestic airfare to and from training camp. I intend to contribute as much as I can personally earn, however, I cannot do it alone. I am seeking financial supporters who will help make this trip possible.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions. Include the enclosed card which will provide AIM with all necessary information. In turn, they will send you a receipt. I need to have $1,000.00 in my account by February 7, 2010. I need to have $8,580.00 in my account and the rest of the money, $5,720.00, in monthly pledges by May 20, 2010. Adventures In Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures In Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult a tax advisor.
