Hello from Kothe, Nepal!  I invite you in to take a look at this past week through my eyes.  : )

Day 73: Kothe, Nepal

We climbed up to a gorgeous waterfall today.  This country has such incredibly breath-taking views.  Every time I look around here, I can’t help but see God’s hand.

Day 74: Kothe, Nepal

We had church today in the little village where we are living.  Even though this village church is quite a bit smaller than the one in Kathmandu, there are a lot of similarites, such as taking our shoes off before we enter, men and women sitting on different sides of the room, and everyone sitting on the floor.  Some people walk for as long as 3 hours just to come to church.  I love being involved in their worship time.  They have only drums, tamborines, and their voices to worship and it is so beautiful!

Day 75: Kothe, Nepal

We went hiking up into a village today to visit and pray with a few families.  I fell in love with this one man in particular.  He has such a captivating smile and, even though he doesn’t have much, he so graciously gave us all bananas just as a thank you for visiting him.

Day 76: Duguna Gadhi, Nepal

For our day off we went rafting down the Bothe Koshi River…Nepal’s second biggest river.  They only open the upper section of the river for a few weeks out of the year and we happened to be there during that time.  Even though it was our guide’s first time down the upper section of the river, we had confidence with Kyle, our fearless team leader, who is a rafting guide in Colorado and was super stoked about rafting today.  We had an incredible time enjoying each other and this opportunity!

Day 77: Kothe, Nepal

After hiking to a village and visiting with a couple of people, including a lady who has been sick for quite a while, we got home to Kothe with daylight left.  So, we decided to take a guitar and go up to the main road to play some worship music.  We gathered quite a crowd–not only do we already stick out since white people don’t usually come to this part of Nepal, but we were playing guitar on the street.  This sweet little girl in particular sat with us the entire time.  My heart absolutely broke for her as other kids got out of school and started making comments about her club foot.  She seemed so ashamed and yet was just happy to be loved on for a few hours.  I love that music, smiles, hugs, and hair-braiding transcend language barriers.

Day 78: Jalbire Village

Today was one of my favorite days!  We hiked up to a village school and we had the incredible opportunity to share the gospel with the kids and their teachers.  We did a skit, taught them some worship songs, and then I got a chance to tell the creation story, how they are God’s favorite creation, and that He wants to have a relationship with them.  This was the first time these kids had ever heard the name of Jesus or about a God who loves them!  We then got to play with them for quite a while…I can’t think of a better way to spend the day before Thanksgiving.

Day 79: Kothe, Nepal

Happy Thanksgiving!  We had quite the Thanksgiving feast…complete with Jezebel and Franklin (the chickens who sacrificed their lives for our dinner thanks to Madisson and Jake), stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and popcorn…all without an oven.  I am so thankful to be in Nepal with my incredible teammates and the incredible people of this country!

Day 80: Pahariyamona Village

We met Monisa on our way down the mountain and had the opportunity to pray for her hurt ear and tell her about Jesus.  This is my teammate, Bri, who is sharing the gospel for her first time ever!
