so I was thinking about how christians are so anti-fun
growing up I was taught:
“we” don’t drink.
“we” are not controversial.
“we” don’t get tattoos.
The funny thing about this is that Jesus hung up His apron in Joesph’s carpentry shop for the last time and walked on. He showed up in Cana at a wedding where they had just run out of wine. His mother quickly said to her son, nudge nudge could you handle this?
This is one of my favorite things about Jesus He entered into His ministry with a wedding where people came together to celebrate life. He turned the water into wine. The best wine that had been served all night. I don’t know about you but that is a beautiful thing. He came so that we would have life and have it in abundance. He stepped out in Faith knowing He was God and He had some business to do.
Ah.
This is such a beautiful thing. He came as a human….Son of Man who was filled with the Spirit. God the Father sent God the Son to earth to be here with us, to teach us that we are loved, that is the reason we were made.
To be loved.
In the end we will celebrate with a wedding. When Heaven comes to earth there will be a wedding. This is not about going to hell or not. If that were the case then when you confess the Lord as your God we may as well die and go to Heaven then and there.
Whats the point if that’s all you are in for, why stay on this earth? I believe that our purpose aside from first and foremost being loved is to bring Heaven here. Bring Joy, Peace, Kindness here to earth. To spread the Kingdom of God , to live as a son or daughter of the King. Not to force anything upon anyone. To live your life in a way that is whole, fully restored…after all it’s the greatest love affair of all time.
In other words. ..
Jesus loves to party. He loves life, wine, love, & celebrations.
