Some of you have asked why I felt it was necessary to come to Spain.
Well to tell you the truth it’s been sort of hard for me to explain to people why.
Today in between classes I was talking to a couple people about how hard it was to really tell people why we are here doing what we are. Then Tara said this which I completely agreed with.
“It’s like we are given all these stars and we have them in our sky but we don’t know what they mean…so we come here asking God what do they make? what is the picture?”
man I am such a visual person so that made perfect sense to me. It’s so true that after the world race it feels like so many doors are open, and they are. We often gain more passions and learn more about a specific injustice or place and fall in love with the cause, but often it is easy to fall in love over and over and over again. I mean we are working with the poorest of the poor in tiny villages and in large cities there is so much pulling at our heart during the 11 months that we traveled the world serving others. Basically what I am saying is that when I came home from the race in July I had fallen in love. With like 3 different places, on 3 different continents. So as you can guess it would be sort of hard to narrow things down.
During the time of transition back into “normal” life I just lost focus and became ultra non-committal. I didn’t know how long I would be in Tulsa, or even the States as a whole. I knew there was so much more for me to do and be, but I didn’t know where to start.
So here I am in Spain at G42 letting my life come back together again. Once again I feel more alive than I ever have at home. Growing, Learning, being with people of the same heart and mind. Seriously an insane blessing to be here gaining the knowledge that I am under these amazing Men and Women, getting to be a apart of this community being poured into and being challenged.
I am slowly starting to see what picture the stars in my sky make.
more on that later.
