I love Africa.
The sky here is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
The other night after a long day a couple of us wound up
worshiping in the front yard of the house we are staying in. The cloud’s
covered up the night sky. The first thing I thought was great I don’t even get
to see the stars. After I sat down and started to worship I felt God saying
hold up. The stars are there regardless if you get to see them or not. Have a
little faith will you?
Of course as I sat there singing and praying I saw each star
come out little by little. The clouds dissipated and we got to see the glory
that is the African night sky. I seriously can’t even tell you what sort of
conversation that was for me. God simply let me know even when you can’t see
the beauty it’s there. Be patient. Have faith.
Africa is so beautiful there are not even words to describe
it really. The people I get to work with here are just amazing. I’ve been able
to be a part of so much here this month. From singing in a wedding, speaking at
a school, being a part of a baptism service in a creek in a very small village,
helping build a rural church, building on another classroom for a school, and
getting to fellowship with the people here in Kitale.
I’m so thankful for this opportunity and I am not taking it
lightly at all. I believe this year is going to be a part of me forever. I
don’t think I’ve ever been able to just soak the beauty that God created in
before. I’ve been blessed with a new set
of brothers and sisters, with friends and families. With the beauty that is travel on a LOW
budget. Learning how to spend the least amount of money possible. Living on a
dollar per meal . spending next to nothing yet having everything offered. I get
what hospitality really looks like now. And I understand just what the body of
Christ is supposed to look like, how it moves, and flexes.
That’s about it for now.
It would be awesome if you could keep my squad and I in your
prayers for health and strength. Thanks!
